Now you all may also be familiar with the song Parachute, sang by a British pop singer Cheryl Cole from the group Girls Aloud. Sassy, upbeat, with all the dancing lalala..

Her voice character is not that strong, so as her dancing skill. But yeah, she's a pretty girl and the song suits her well.

But do you know that the song is co-written by the talented Ingrid Michaelson? This New York based indie pop singer/songwriter is one of my favourite musicians! She got great albums with great songs and great lyrics. You might recognize her music since some of her songs are played as tracks on ABC Grey's Anatomy series, which happens to be one of my fave series too.

Actually, i know the song Parachute first from Ingrid Michaelson. Then come along the Cheryl Cole upbeat version.

“It didn’t feel like something I could put out because it was so poppy, [so] we shipped it off for people to take a gander and see who would pick it up,” Michaelson says of the song, which eventually made its way to Cole’s camp. It took producer Dan Romer, who worked with Michaelson on Everybody, to convince Michaelson to record “Parachute” herself. - EW.com

Undoubtedly, Inggrid's voice is better (this is her fan talking). and the video is... different. and she does look different in every videos. However, i miss that geeky glasses of her, coz it's like her trademark!

But then again, she looks nice, just like one the comments in her youtube video from whawkeye1881:
"As a particle physicist and musician, I have to say . . . Ingrid Michaelson has just breached the limit of intellectual hotness."

So, which one do you like?

Di antara semaraknya lagu-lagu cinta dengan hasrat kerinduan mendalam akan datangnya sang pujaan hati dan gaung lagu-lagu kepedihan dan tekad bulat perselingkuhan yang saling jegal satu sama lain di Indonesia, bertiuplah angin segar yang menyeruak di tengah beban asmara yang selalu mewek dan berlebihan. Angin segar itu bersenandung dengan suara khas Oppie Andaresta, dengan lagu terbarunya "Single Happy".

Betapa bahagianya saya karena, untuk sesekali, orang-orang yang tidak memiliki pasangan bisa dengan bangga mengatakan, "i'm single and very happy", instead of "gue jomblo" yang menurut saya kesannya begitu depresif dan desperate.

Penasaran dengan lirik dan video klipnya? Saya punya.
Sayangnya, video klip Oppie kurang membumi, kurang menonjolkan public figure yang jelas-jelas memilih untuk menjadi single [ya teman, BEING SINGLE IS AN OPTION] dan bisa berbahagia dengan hidupnya. Cameo yang tampil di video clip tersebut hanya Okky Lukman dan Ivan Gunawan. Sisanya tetap dipenuhi oleh model-model cantik indonesia yang (maaf) tentu saja tidak mungkin memilih menjadi single. Kurang menohok, menurut saya.

Anyway, it's a nice and easy listening song. Layaknya lagu Natasha Bedingfield, salah satu penyanyi wanita favorit saya, yang menyerukan kata "Single" secara lantang!

This morning i browse for some music and find this...
"Trocadero" by Potret.

Simple yet romantic it is, ada di album Potret II yang covernya bergaya klasik.

First, you'll hear it in Indonesian, sung by Melly [a genius in music i presume], then someone translated it into french. As you know - and everybody does think that way i guess - French is a romantic language, which make this song, as i said previously, simple yet romantic.

Sebenernya gue nyari2 lagu ini udah lama. Dulu.. dulu bgt gue pernah denger lagu ini, once.. maybe twice, n i'm instantly in love! ♥ itu dulu. Sekarang, stelah ada yang namanya MP3 [thank God!] gue bisa menemukan lagu ini [kembali].

BTW, gue juga bisa menulis bahasa prancisnya di sini berkat jasanya mbak Farah [uhuy] yang jago bgt prancisnya - yeah, she can speak several languages, wooot!!! Tadi tuh gue udah nyari mati2an lirik "Trocadero" but i can't find it anywhere! akhirnya, gue mbujuk2 mbak farah buat nulis'in liriknya yang prancis heheheh...

Speaking about Trocadero.. This place looks nice, so damn crowded in the summer - that's what mbak farah said. Let me paste something from yahoo travel.

Guess it's wonderfullll! I've been to Paris once, last year, but i was sick [damn!]. Hope i can go there again, if i have the money of course! For now, well, i can dream ;)
